The Group operates in three segments: Power, Enhancement and Capacity Payments. The Group owns 21 power plants in Canada and the United States. The total power generating capacity of 1,464 megawatts. The Power Plants generate electricity and steam from a combination of natural gas, waste heat, wood waste and water flow. The Williams Lake and Calstock power plants are fuelled solely by wood waste products; the Curtis Palmer, Mamquam and Queen Charlotte plants are hydroelectric power plants while the rest of the plants are fuelled by natural gas. The Manchief power plant uses a cycle process, Castleton has a combined cycle process and the remainder, Nipigon, Kapuskasing, North Bay and Tunis are fuelled by a combination of natural gas and waste heat. The Group operates in Canada and the United States.
