Business Description
Air Products and Chemicals, Inc.. The Group's principal activity is to serve technology, energy, industrial, and healthcare customers globally. It operates through four business segments: Merchant Gases, Tonnage Gases, Electronics and Performance Materials and Equipment and Energy. Merchant Gases sells industrial gases such as oxygen, nitrogen and argon. Tonnage Gases Segment distributes hydrogen, carbon monoxide, nitrogen and oxygen to the petroleum refining and metallurgical industries. Electronics and Performance Materials Segment provides material solutions through chemical synthesis, analytical technology, process engineering and surface science. Equipment and Energy Segment designs and manufactures cryogenic and gas processing equipment for air separation, hydrocarbon recovery and purification, natural gas liquefaction (known as LNG) helium distribution and it serves energy market in a variety of ways. During fiscal 2009, it completed the disposal of the U.S. Healthcare business.
