Business Description
Alliance Resource Partners, L.P.. The Group's principal activity is to produce and market coal to utilities and industrial users in the United States. The Group produces a diverse range of steam coals with varying sulfur and heat contents. In 2008, the Group operated in eight mining complexes in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, and West Virginia. The Group's also operated a coal loading terminal on the Ohio River at Mt. Vernon. Mining activities are conducted into three operating regions: the Illinois Basin operations, the East Kentucky operations and the Maryland operations. In 2008, the Group acquired SGP Land Acquisition.
