Business Description
American Ecology Corporation. The Group's principal activities are to provide radioactive, hazardous and industrial waste management services. It operates in two segments: Operating Disposal Facilities and Non-Operating Disposal Facilities. Operating disposal facilities segment accepts hazardous and low-level radioactive waste and includes hazardous waste treatment and disposal facilities. Non-operating disposal facilities segment includes the closed hazardous waste disposal, processing and deep-well injection facilities. The services are provided to commercial and government entities, such as nuclear power plants, medical and academic institutions, steel mills, refineries and chemical production facilities, electric utilities and waste broker / aggregators. The Group's customers include the United States Army Corps of Engineers, Nucor Steel Company and Shaw Environmental and Infrastructure Inc.
