Business Description
American Equity Investment Life Holding Company. The Group's principal activity is to develop and sell index and fixed rate annuity products. Fixed rate deferred annuities include annual reset and multi-year rate guaranteed products. It also sells single premium immediate annuities. Index annuities allow policyholders to link returns to the performance of a particular index without the risk of loss of their principal. Life Insurance includes traditional ordinary and term, universal life and other interest-sensitive life insurance products. The Group markets its products through a variable cost brokerage distribution network. As of 31-Dec-2008, the Group has 65 national marketing organizations and 45,000 independent agents. It operates in the United States.
