Business Description
Aradigm Corporation. The Group's principal activity is to develop and commercialize portfolio of drugs delivered by inhalation for the treatment of severe respiratory diseases by pulmonologists. The Group's AERx pulmonary drug delivery system provides an efficient and reproducible means of targeting drugs to the diseased parts of the lung, or to the lung for systemic absorption, through a combination of fine mist generation technology and breath control mechanisms. Pulmonary delivery describes the delivery of drugs by oral inhalation and is a common method of treatment of many respiratory diseases, including asthma, chronic bronchitis, cystic fibrosis and bronchiecta. The Group has currently five respiratory product candidates in development: innovative treatments for cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis, inhalation anthrax, smoking cessation treatment, and, in collaborations with other companies, pulmonary arterial hypertension and asthma and other chronic obstructive diseases of airways.
