Business Description
Artesian Resources Corporation. The Group's principal activity is supplying water to the Delmarva Peninsula. It sources water from wells that pump groundwater from aquifers and other natural water-bodies in the Atlantic Coastal Plain. A part of the supply includes surface water purchased from neighboring water utilities and municipalities through interconnections. The Group also supplies water to public fire protection service through 5,226 hydrants in its service territories. The consumers include residential, commercial, industrial, governmental, municipal and utility customers throughout Delaware. In 2007, the Group expanded its operations in Maryland and Pennsylvania. At 31-December-2008, the Group had approximately 75,800 metered water customers, 632 wastewater customers, and served a population of approximately 250,000.
