Calavo Growers Incorporated. The Group's principal activities are the procurement and marketing of avocados and other perishable foods. The Group also prepares and distributes processed avocado products. The operations are conducted through two business segments: Fresh products and Processed products. The Fresh Products business segment grades, sizes, packs, cools and ripens avocados grown in California for delivery to its customers.The Processed Products segment include the operations related to the purchase, manufacturing, and distribution of processed avocado products. The Fresh and Processed food products are sold to food distributors, produce wholesalers, supermarkets and restaurants on a worldwide basis. Additionally, it procures avocados internationally, principally from California, Mexico, Chile and the Dominican Republic. The Group distributes perishable foods, such as Hawaiian grown papayas. The Group operates in the United States, Mexico and other countries.
