Business Description
A.M. Castle & Company. The Group's principal activity is to purchase, store, process and distribute specialty metals and plastics. It operates in two segments: Metals and Plastics. The Metals segment focuses on highly engineered specialty grades and alloys of metals as well as specialized processing services geared to meet very tight specifications. Core products of the Group include nickel alloys, aluminum, stainless steels and carbon. The Plastics segment stocks and distributes a wide variety of plastics in forms that include plate, rod, tube, clear sheet, tape, gaskets and fittings. The Group's customers include metal users within the Fortune 500 list of companies as well as thousands of medium and smaller sized firms. The Group operates throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, France, the United Kingdom, Spain, China and Singapore. On 03-Jan-2008, it acquired Metals U.K. Group.
