Business Description
Cohen & Steers, Inc.. The Group's principal activity is to manage mutual funds. It manages three types of accounts: closed-end mutual funds, open-end mutual funds and institutional separate accounts. Closed-End Mutual Funds. The 11 closed-end mutual funds for which the Group is the investment advisor are registered investment companies that have issued a fixed number of shares through public offerings. Open-End Mutual Funds. The 15 open-end mutual funds for which the Group is the investment advisor offer and issue new shares continuously as funds are invested and redeem shares when funds are withdrawn. Institutional Separate Accounts. The 89 institutional separate accounts for which the Group is the investment advisor represent portfolios of securities it manages for institutional clients. The Group also serves as portfolio consultant for non-proprietary unit investment trusts. It operates in the United States.
