Community Health Systems, Inc.. The Group's principal activities are owning, leasing and operating acute care hospitals that provide primary healthcare services in non-urban communities. It provides a broad range of inpatient and outpatient medical, surgical services and skilled nursing care. The services includes internal medicine, general surgery, cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, OB/GYN and emergency services, outpatient surgery, laboratory, radiology, respiratory therapy and physical therapy. As of December 31, 2008, included in our continuing operations, are 118 hospitals that the Company owned or leased.
