Energy Transfer Equity, L.P.. The Group's principal activity is to operate natural gas midstream, transportation and storage business, in Texas and Louisiana. It also has retail propane marketing business with operations in 40 states. It conducts its natural gas midstream, transportation and storage business through the following segments: the Midstream segment; Intrastate transportation and storage segment; Interstate Transportation and Retail propane operations. The midstream segment focuses on the gathering, compression, treating, processing and marketing of natural gas. The transportation and storage segment focuses on the transportation of natural gas between major markets from various natural gas producing areas through connections with pipeline systems. The retail segments sell products and services to retail and wholesale customers. Interstate Transportation segment provides natural gas transportation services and operational gas sales.
