Business Description
Evergreen Solar, Inc.. The Group's principal activities are to develop, manufacture and market solar power products that are capable of providing reliable and environmentally clean electric power. The solar power products include solar cells, panels and systems, with solar panel sales being the major one. Solar panels are used to generate electricity for on-grid and off-grid applications. On-grid applications provide supplemental electricity to customers that are served by an electric utility grid, but choose to generate a portion of their electricity needs on-site. Off-grid applications serve markets where access to conventional electric power is not economical or physically feasible. The Group's research revenues consist of revenues from various state and federal government agencies to fund the ongoing research, development, testing and enhancement of products and manufacturing technology.
