Business Description
Fibertower Corporation. The Group's principal activity is to provide facilities-based backhaul services to wireless carriers, enabling significant improvements in reliability, scalability and cost. Backhaul is the transport of voice, video and data traffic from a wireless carrier's mobile base station, or cell site, to its mobile switching center or MSC or other exchange point. The Group services enable carriers to optimize their networks and also provide a long-term solution for the backhaul of emerging broadband applications, such as wireless data, mobile video and mobile gaming. The Group's technical architecture is designed to accommodate additional transport services that customers may choose to implement in the future, such as metro Ethernet, Asynchronous Transfer Mode or ATM and other packet-based protocols.
