Business Description
Foundation Coal Holdings, Inc.. The Group's principal activity is to supply steam coal to U.S utilities for use in generating electricity. It also sells steam coal to industrial plants and metallurgical coal to steel producers. The Group operates in four business segments: Northern Appalachia, Central Appalachia, Powder River Basin and Other. It operates a diverse group of thirteen mines located in Wyoming, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Illinois. The customers of the Group include domestic and foreign electric utilities, steel producers and industrial users.
