Business Description
Franklin Electronic Publishers, Incorporated. The Group's principal activity is to design, develop, publishes and distributes electronic information on handheld devices, memory media cards and via internet downloads. It also designs, develops and license to third parties, linguistic technology, such as spelling error detection software in thirty-six languages, for use in application software, electronic products and on the internet. The Group's handheld devices are battery-powered platforms with liquid crystal displays (LCD) that incorporate the text of a reference work, such as a dictionary. The Groups has electronic rights to over 100 reference titles, including several versions of English and bilingual dictionaries, Bibles, test preparation, entertainment-oriented publications, children's language learning devices and encyclopedias. The trade names of the Group are Franklin, BOOKMAN, Spelling Ace, Wordmaster, Next Century, Pocket Prep, Pagemark and Language Master.
