General Communication Incorporated. The Group's principal activity is to provide facilities based long distance communication service in the State of Alaska. It operates in five segments: Consumer, Network Access, Commercial, Managed Broadband, and Regulated Operations services. The Regulated Operations offer voice, data and wireless services to residential, business, and governmental customers in areas of rural Alaska. As on 01-Jun-2008, it acquired United Utilities, Inc and Unicom, Inc.
