Business Description
Gentex Corporation. The Group's principal activity is to develop, manufacture and market proprietary electro-optical products. It operates through two segments: Automotive Products and Fire Protection Products. The Automotive Products division manufactures electrochromic, automatic-dimming mirrors for the auto industry. The Fire Protection products primarily for the commercial building industry. These products are generally used in fire detection systems common to large office buildings, hotels, motels, military bases, college dormitories and other commercial establishments. The major customers include General Motors Corporation, Toyota Motor Corporation, DaimlerChrysler AG and BMW. The Group operates in the United States, Germany, Japan, United Kingdom, France, Korea, China and Sweden.
