Business Description
Idacorp, Inc.. The Group's principal activities are generating, transmitting, distributing, selling and purchasing electric energy. The Group operates in segments namely: Utility Operations and All Other. Utility Operations is a regulated operations which includes the generation, transmission, distribution, sale and purchase of electric energy. Its business area includes 24,000 square mile area in southern Idaho and eastern Oregon. IPC holds franchises in 71 cities in Idaho and nine cities in Oregon. It owns and operates 17 hydroelectric power plants and one natural gas-fired plant and shares ownership in three coal-fired generating plants. The All Other segment includes the operation of IFS which involves investment in affordable housing developments and historic rehabilitation projects. As of December 31, 2008, IPC supplied electric energy to approximately 487,000 general business customers.
