Business Description
Novacea, Inc.. The Group's principal activity is that of a biopharmaceutical company focused on in-licensing, developing and commercializing novel therapies for the treatment of cancer. Its product portfolio features three clinical-stage oncology product candidates: DN-101, vinorelbine oral and AQ4N. Its lead product candidate, DN-101, is in a Phase 3 clinical trial for the treatment of androgen-independent prostate cancer. AQ4N is expected to advance into a Phase 1/2 clinical trial in the second half of 2006 for glioblastoma multiforme in combination with radiation and chemotherapy. It also seeks to develop anti-cancer agents that may reduce the toxicities associated with current treatments. Trademarks include Asentar and We Can. In May 2007, the Group signed an exclusive License, Development and Commercialization Agreement with Schering Corporation for the development and commercialization of 'Asentar.'
