Business Description
Pittsburgh & West Virginia Railroad. The Company's principal activity is to lease its owned properties on rental basis. The Company was organised for the purpose of acquiring the business and property of a small leased railroad. The Company has been elected to be treated as a Real Estate Investment Trust under Sections 856 through 860 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 and is exempt from paying federal corporate income taxes on its taxable income. The Company's leased out properties include main railway lines extending from Pittsburgh Junction, Ohio, through parts of West Virginia, to Connellsville, Connellsville, Pennsylvaniaapproximately 20 miles of branch lines; and other assets used in the operation of the railroad, such as real estate, machinery and equipment, and supplies. The Company operates only in the United States.
