Business Description
SWS Group, Inc.. The Group's principal activity is to provide investment and related financial services through its subsidiaries. The Group provides these services to individual and institutional investors, broker/dealers, corporations, governmental entities and financial intermediaries. It operates in four business segments: Clearing segment provides clearing and execution services for general securities dealers, bank affiliated firms and firms specializing in high volume trading. Retail segment includes retail securities, insurance and managed accounts. Institutional segment is comprised of businesses serving institutional customers in securities lending, investment banking and public finance, fixed income sales and trading and equity trading and Bank segment offers a full array of deposit products, including checking, savings, money market and certificates of deposit. On 31-Mar-2008 the Group acquired ML Stern & Co LLC and Tower Asset Management LLC.
