Sanderson Farms, Inc.. The Group's principal activities are producing, processing, marketing and distributing fresh and frozen chicken products. It sells chill pack, ice pack, bulk pack and frozen chicken in whole, cut-up and boneless form primarily under the brand name Sanderson Farms(R). The products are sold to retailers, distributors, and casual dining operators principally in the southeastern, southwestern, northeastern and western United States, and to brokers who resell frozen chicken into export markets. The Group's chicken operations presently encompass 7 hatcheries, 6 feed mills and 8 processing plants. As of 31-Oct-2008 the Group processed 390.3 million chickens or approximately 2.4 billion dressed pounds. The Group operates in the United States.
