Business Description
Seaboard Corporation. The Group's principal activities are diversified international agribusiness and Transportation Company which is primarily into pork production and processing, and cargo shipping domestically. The Group operates through five segments namely: Pork, Commodity Trading, Marine and Milling, Sugar and Citrus and Power. The Pork segment sells pork products to further processors and foodservice companies both in the United States and in foreign markets. The Commodity Trading and Milling segment sources bulk and bag commodities and operates flour and feed mills. The Marine segment offers containerized cargo shipping services. The Sugar and Citrus segment produces and refines sugarcane and processes citrus. The Power segment generates electric power from two generating facilities in the Dominican Republic. The Other Business purchases and process jalapeno peppers at its owned plant in Honduras and are shipped to the United States.
