Business Description
UMH Properties, Inc.. The Group's principal activity is to own and operate manufactured home communities. It leases manufactured home spaces on a month-to-month basis to private manufactured home owners. It also leases homes to residents, and through its wholly-owned taxable REIT subsidiary, sells homes to residents and prospective residents of its communities. The Group owns and operates twenty-seven manufactured home communities containing approximately 6,800 sites. The communities are located in New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Tennessee. The Group has elected to be taxed as a real estate investment trust (REIT) under Sections 856-860 of the Internal Revenue Code.
