Business Description
United Bankshares, Inc.. The Group's principal activity is to provide full range of commercial and retail banking services and products. It accepts demand deposits, savings deposits, money market accounts, certificates of deposits and time deposits. The Group lends commercial loans, construction loans, residential mortgage loans, commercial mortgage loans, residential real estate loans, construction loans and consumer loans. As of 31-Dec-2008, there were 68 bank holding companies operating in the State of West Virginia registered with the Federal Reserve System and the West Virginia Board of Banking and Financial Institutions and 95 bank holding companies operating in the Commonwealth of Virginia registered with the Federal Reserve System and the Virginia Corporation Commission.
