Business Description
X-Rite Incorporated. The Group's principal activity is to develop, manufacture and sell technically sophisticated instrumentation & software solutions for color and shape measurement applications. Its products include micro-spot spectrodensitometer, auto tracking densitometer, integrated spheres & instruments that use tunable laser technology. Micro-spot spectrodensitometer is used to read color bars & related micro sized color control elements in printed inks in graphic arts applications. Spectrophotometers are used in color formulation for materials such as plastics, paints, inks, ceramics & metals. Auto tracking densitometer designed for newspaper presses to evaluate and adjust gray balance in newspaper production. On October 24, 2007, the Group acquired Pantone, Inc. As of December 29, 2007, it owned 154 patents and had 197 patent applications on file. It operates in United States, Asia and Europe.
