Business Description
Banque Nationale de Belgique(BNB). The Company's principal activity is to provide financial services to the government and other financial institutions. It acts as Belgium's central bank and clearing house. It involves in issuing notes and coins, holding gold reserves and IMF special drawing rights and issuing debt securities. It regulates the monetary system through transfers of cash between overseas central banks and principal participants in the Belgian financial markets. In addition, the Company provides financial support to the Belgian Treasury and other central bodies such as the International Monetary Fund. The Company also performs central administrative functions, including audit, economic surveys, statistical research and other publications. It functions as a part of the European Central Banking System.
