Business Description
Van Houtte Inc.. The Group's principal activities are to manufacture integrated gourmet coffee roaster and distributor in North America. The Group buys green coffee beans, roasts and packages them according to its own blends and recipes and distributes the coffee through distribution channels. The operations are carried out in two segments: Coffee Services and Manufacturing and Marketing. The Coffee Services segment sells coffee for consumption in the workplace and other public locations. It also distributes complementary products such as condiments, snacks, drinks, water and point-of-use water systems. The Manufacturing and Marketing segment encompasses coffee roasting and distribution for home consumption through retail channels. As on 01-Apr-2006, the Group had 76 branches and franchised establishments in 76 cities across most of Canada and the United States.
