Business Description
Catalyst Paper Corporation. The Group's principal activity is to produce groundwood printing papers including directory, soft-calendered, machine finished hi-brites, lightweight coated, newsprint and kraft paper in North America. It also produces market pulp and operates the paper recycling facility in Western Canada. The Group operates in three business segments: Specialty Paper, Newsprint and Pulp. The Specialty Paper segment manufactures and sells groundwood specialty printing papers and kraft paper. The Newsprint segment manufactures and sells newsprint. The Pulp segment manufactures and sells long and short fibre pulp and containerboard. The Group operates in Canada, the United States, Asia, Latin America and Europe. The manufacturing plant is located in British Columbia. On 10-Apr-2008, it acquired the Snowflake mill.
