Business Description
OPTI Canada, Inc.. The Group's principal activity is to upgrade and develop oil sands. Its first project, Phase 1 of the Long Lake Project (the Project), consists of 72,000 barrels per day of steam assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) bitumen production integrated with an upgrading facility. Upgrader uses the OrCrude(TM) process combined with commercially available hydrocracking and gasification. Through gasification, this configuration substantially reduces the exposure to and the need to purchase natural gas. The Group is focused on developing the next integrated oil sands project in Canada, Phase 1 of the Long Lake Project (the Project), in a joint venture with Nexen Inc.
