Axion Power International Inc. The principal activity of the Group is to develop asymmetrically supercapacitive lead-acid-carbon energy storage devices. The new class of hybrid energy storage device offers both battery and supercapacitor performance characteristics and has a much longer service life. The e3 Supercells can be used in uninterruptible power supplies known as UPS systems and DC power systems for communications networks. It can also be used in short-term energy storage and buffering systems for grid-connected wind and solar power generating facilities and conventional electric utilities.
