Algonquin Power & Utilities Corporation Formerly known as Algonquin Power Income Fund. The Group's principal activity is the ownership of generating and infrastructure facilities through investments in securities of subsidiaries. The Group operates in: Power Generation & Development,and Utility Services. The Power Generation & Development business unit develops and operates aportfolio of electrical energy generation facilities. The Utility Services business unit provides transportation and delivery of water and wastewater in itsservice areas. The Group owns a widely diversified portfolio of operating interests in 41 hydroelectric facilities, a 99 MW wind energy facility. It also owns 17 water distribution and wastewater treatment facilities located in the United States. The operations are carried out through the following business segments: Hydroelectric, Cogeneration, Alternative Fuels and Infrastructure Assets.
