Business Description
Royal Host Real Estate Investment Trust. The Group's principal activity is that of an Investment Trust. They invest in hotel properties and hospitality businesses, under specified guidelines as defined under the Declaration of Trust. As on 31-Mar-2009, it owns a diversified portfolio of 31 operating properties, comprising 3,734 guest rooms, which includes limited and full-service hotels in the mid-market to upscale hospitality segments. The Group also maintains an investment portfolio of publicly-traded securities focused on the hospitality and service sectors and manages a number of properties on behalf of third parties using its proven training programs, operating procedures, revenue and yield management systems and sales programs. They also own the master franchise rights for Travelodge and Thriftlodge in Canada. The Group currently franchises approximately 99 locations.
