Business Description
Zhongpin Inc.. The Group's principal activity is engaging in meat and food processing and distribution business. As of December 31, 2008, its product lines include over 314 unique meat products, including chilled pork, frozen pork and prepared meats, and over 20 vegetable and fruit products. It distributes its products on a wholesale and retail basis through showcase stores, network stores and supermarket counters. The Group operates 12 processing plants, which are located in Henan, Hebei, Jilin and Sichuan provinces and in Tianjin City, the People's Republic of China. Products are sold under the brand name of Zhongpin. At 31-12-2008, its customers included 21 international and domestic fast food companies in the People's Republic of China, 39 processing factories and 1,669 school cafeterias, factory canteens, army posts and national departments. It sold directly to 3,061 retail outlets, including supermarkets, within domestic market.
