Business Description
Sartorius AG. The Group's principal activities are the development, manufacture and distribution of precision mechanical and electronic devices, measuring instruments, hydrodynamic bearings, technical equipment and scientific research in chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries. The Group's activities are carried out through two divisions: Biotechnology and Mechatronics. The Biotechnology segment covers applications for biomolecular and microbial separations, concentration, purification, fermentation and cell culture technology. The segment produces hydrodynamic bearings that produces gas turbine bearings, multi lobe slide bearings, gear bearings and compressors and separation technology which separates small particles from liquids and gases for biological and technical applications. The Mechatronics segment specializes on weighing technology that produces laboratory balances and industrial scales. In 2006, the Group acquired Toha Plast GmbH and Stedim S.A.
