Business Description
Minco PLC. The Group's principal activity is exploring for and developing silver and zinc projects. The Group has mining interests in silver and zinc projects in Mexico, but also interests in zinc exploration projects in Ireland. The Group has two mining operations located in Mexico, the Minera Sisa and the Laguna Zacatecana. The Laguna Zacatecana project focuses on the extraction of silver minerals an area of approximately 200 hectares and is within 10 kilometres of the colonial city of Zacatecas. Minera Sisa project processes silver-gold ores and with considerable resources of copper as well. The Group also has zinc mining operation located in Ireland, the Pallas Green project. The Pallas Green property comprises 13 contiguous prospecting licences extending from north of Limerick City east-southeast to the former Gortdrum Mine in Tipperary.
