Business Description
GC Rieber Shipping ASA. The Group's principal activity is to operate multifunctional vessels for defined markets in offshore support, marine seismic operations, cable-laying and research, including antarctic support and research. The Group operates in three segments: Offshore Subsea, Ice/research and Marine Seismic. Offshore Subsea provides inspection, maintenance and repair on subsea installations. Ice/research operates vessels used in polar areas by research organizations and the oil industry. Marine Seismic consists of maritime operation of 12 seismic vessels for other owners. On March 2008, GC Rieber Shipping ASA's subsidiary acquired the company, Scan Mudring AS. The Group's another subsidiary acquired the company, Octio Geophysical.
