Business Description
Highveld Steel & Vanadium Corp Ltd. The Group's principal activities are carried out through its Steel, Vanadium and Ferro-alloys divisions. Steel segment converts hot rolled steel products and continuously cast steel products to plate, hot rolled coil, structural sections, and billets and slabs. Plate is used in the fabrication of girders, support structures and bridges. Hot rolled are used in cladding of buildings and bridges. Vanadium business produces vanadium pentoxide, ferrovanadium and vanadium bearing slug. This division also has operations relating to vanadium chemicals that are used as pigments, dyes, corrosion inhibitors and catalyst in the petrochemical and sulphuric acid industries. Ferro-alloys operation focuses silicon manganese used in the production of steel, providing differing grades and qualities, including strength and flexibility. This division also has operations relating to medium carbon ferromanganese, ferrosilicon and devolatilised coal.
