Business Description
Holmen AB(MODO). The Group's principal activity is to produce paper, cardboard and sawn timber. The Group's operations are carried out through five segments: Holmen Paper, Iggesund Paperboard, Holmen Timber, Holmen Skog and Holmen Energy. The Holmen Paper segment produces and markets newsprint, magazine and directory paper using virgin fibre and recycled fibre as the raw materials. Iggesund Paperboard segment produces and markets solid bleached board and folding box board, using virgin fibre as raw materials. Iggesund Timber segment produces and markets sawn redwood timber to industrial users that manufacture consumer products. The Holmen Skog segment is responsible for the procurement of wood for the Group's Swedish mills and for managing the Group's forest holdings. The Holmen Energy segment is responsible for the supply of electricity for Holmen's Swedish mills and for the Group's hydroelectric power stations. The Group operates mainly in Europe.
