Close Brothers Group PLC. The Group's principal activity is to provide financial services. It operates in three divisions: Banking, Asset Management and Securities. Banking division comprises a number of specialist businesses focused on secured lending to SMEs, professionals and consumers across a wide range of asset classes, mainly in the United Kingdom. The Asset division focuses on managing, protecting and enhancing the wealth of private and corporate clients through a broad range of capabilities in investment and wealth management, trust and fund administration and banking. The Securities division has twoprincipal trading companies, Winterflood and Close Brothers Seydler, and a strategic investment in Mako. Winterflood is a market-maker in UK equities. Mako is a marketmaker in exchange traded derivatives. On 01-Jul-2009, the Group disposed off its Corporate Finance division.
