Business Description
Solomon Gold PLC. The Group's principal activity is exploring minerals in the Solomon Islands. Its operation focuses on the Mbetilonga Tenement situated over a large feature interpreted as a nested volcanic collapse structure (Mbetilonga Caldera), the northern boundary of which lies 8km south of Honiara . The Group's other mining operation is located in the Ongonga Gorge containing silica-pyrite altered breccia zones and clay-silica-pyrite altered andesites. Trachyandesites and diorite porphyry are exposed in the Ongonga Gorge. 0.5m wide quartz veins strike to the northwest, and a zone of clay banded with pyrite exposed to the north. It also has mining operation relating to the exploration of porphyry copper and epithermal gold.
