Business Description
Foseco PLC. The Group's principal activity is developing, manufacturing and supplying metallurgical chemicals, principally to the segments of the foundry and steel industries. The Foundry operation relates to ceramic filter that are used within the mould to remove impurities and reduce turbulence during pouring, thereby reducing scrap and improving the mechanical properties of the finished casting. The Steel business supplies a wide range of consumables and high temperature refractories for the predominant Continuous Casting process, mainly in and around the Tundish, for melting operations including Injection Lances, Slag Retention Products and Degasser Snorkels, and for Ingot Casting, mainly Hot Tops. The Group operates in the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Brazil, Canada, USA, Mexico, Australia, China and India.
