Business Description
Stagecoach Group PLC. The Group's principal activity is providing public transport services in the United Kingdom and North America. The Group's operations are carried out through three divisions. The United Kingdom Rail operates two rail franchises, the South West Trains and Island Line. The South West Train operates 1,600 trains a day on a network in south-west England and the Island Line operates on the Isle of Wight. The United Kingdom Bus business connects communities in more than 100 towns and cities across the United Kingdom on networks stretching from the Highlands of Scotland to south west England. These include major city bus operations in Liverpool, Newcastle, Hull, Manchester, Oxford, Sheffield, Cambridge and Exeter. The North American division operates through its Coach USA and Coach Canada brands, providing transport services in North America. Its businesses include commuter/transit services, inter-city services, tour and charter, sightseeing and school bus operations.
