Business Description
Gooch & Housego PLC. The Group's principal activity is manufacturing acousto-optic devices and electro-optic devices, optical instrument, crystals, optical instruments and imaging systems. It operates in two segments: Components and Materials and Instrumentation and Life Sciences. The Group products consist of optic-holder, electro-optic device, mount and holder, waveplates and cell drivers. The products are used in photonics based systems for scientific, medical and research applications, industrial laser processing, confocal microscopy, laser sensing and laser display. The Group has expertise in the areas of coatings, magnetorheological finishing, lenses, prisms, filters, windows, mirrors, glass engineering, and assemblies. It also designs and manufactures light measurement systems that provide repeatable research-grade measurements in the UV-VIS-NIR-IR wavelength ranges for research, academia, industry and the military. On 8-Oct-2008, it acquired General Optics from GSI Group.
