Business Description
Northern AIM VCT PLC. The Company's principal activity is that of a Venture Capital Trust. The Company makes long term equity and loan investments, mainly in AIM quoted companies. The Company is an Investment Company within the meaning of Section 266 of the Companies Act 1985 until 29-Jun-2004 when investment company status was revoked in order to permit the distribution of capital profits, and its shares have been listed on the London Stock Exchange since January 2001. The Company has been approved by the HM Revenue & Customs as an Venture Capital Trust for the purposes of Section 842AA of the Income and Corporation Taxes Act 1988. Investment management services are provided by Northern Venture Managers Ltd for a fee payable quarterly in advance, at the rate of 2.0% of gross assets less current liabilities, calculated at half-yearly intervals as at 30 April and 31 October. The agreement is terminable by either party at any time by not less than twelve months' notice.
