Business Description
Shires Smaller Companies plc. The Group's principal activity is that of an Investment Trust. The objective of the Group is to provide a high and growing dividend and capital growth from a portfolio invested principally in the ordinary shares of smaller United Kingdom companies and United Kingdom fixed income securities. The Group is an Investment Company within the meaning of Section 266 of the companies Act 1985. The Group has been approved by the Inland Revenue as an Investment Trust for all accounting periods up to and including 31-Dec-2006.Investment management services are provided by Aberdeen Asset Management PLC for a fee calculated at 0.75% of shareholders' funds plus short and medium-term funding calculated monthly and paid quarterly. The agreement is terminable by either party on one year's notice.
