Business Description
Advance UK Trust Plc. The Company's principal activity is that of an Investment Trust. The objective of the Company is to achieve returns for shareholders in excess of the Benchmark Index by investing, usually at a discount to net asset value in a portfolio of investment funds which themselves invest in the United Kingdom or other developed markets or which are generalist funds or funds with a considerable exposure to such markets. The Company is an Investment Company within the meaning of Section 833 of the Companies Act 2006. The Company has been approved by the Inland Revenue as an Investment Trust for the purposes of Section 842 of the Income and Corporation Taxes Act 1988 for the year ended 31-Aug-2008.Investment management services are provided by Progressive European Markets Ltd for a fee calculated at a monthly rate of one-twelfth of 1% of the Company's adjusted market capitalisation. The manager is appointed under a contract subject to twelve months' notice.
