Business Description
Montanaro UK Smaller Companies Investment Trust PLC. The Company's principal activity is that of an Investment Trust. The objective of the Company is capital appreciation (rather than income) achieved by investing in small quoted companies listed on the London Stock Exchange or traded on the Alternative Investment Market and to achieved relative outperformance of its benchmark. The Company is an Investment Company within the meaning of Section 833 of the Companies Act 2006. The Company has been approved by the HM Revenue & Customs as an Investment Trust for the purposes of Section 842 of the Income and Corporation Taxes Act 1988 for the year ended 31-Mar-2008. Investment management services are provided by Montanaro Investment Managers Ltd for a fixed fee of 1/12 of 1% of the gross assets of the Company, payable monthly in arrears, and a performance fee of 0.1% of the gross assets of the Company for each 1% outperformance of the Company's net asset value against the SmallCap over the financial year.
