Business Description
New India Investment Trust PLC. The Group's principal activity is that of an Investment Trust. The objective of the Group is to provide shareholders with long-term capital appreciation by investment in companies which are incorporated in India or which derive significant revenue or profit from India, with dividend yield from the Group being of secondary importance. The Group is an Investment Company within the meaning of Section 842 of the Companies Act 1988. The Group has been approved by the Inland Revenue as an Investment Trust for the purposes of Section 842 of the Income and Corporation Taxes Act 1988 for the year ended 31-Mar-2008. Investment management services are provided by Aberdeen Asset Management Asia Ltd for a annual rate of 1.0% of the value of the Company's net assets. The agreement is terminable by either party on 12 months' notice.
